The Crazy Lobster
A tradition in Cabo San Lucas, The Crazy lobster has become a favorite choice for an affordable Mexican seafood experience with an open-air ambience. You can guess from the name that lobster is the specialty of the house and they are certainly plentiful. Start your day with one of their delicious lobster or shrimp omelets or choose from one of their many other tasty breakfast options. For lunch and dinner, you can enjoy one of the great lobster combos with scallops, fish, crab, squid, BBQ ribs or chicken. Just choose two and you will not be disappointed. Chef Reyes Benitez recommends the Lobster and Shrimp Combo in garlic butter. If lobster is not your thing, you will not be left wanting. Da Antonio Ristorante
Tucked away next to the Presidente Inter-Continental Los Cabos Resort, off Boulevard Mijares in San José del Cabo, is the upscale Italian restaurant, Da Antonio. Overlooking the estuary and coastline, this elegant restaurant provides a superb setting for a special family dinner or romantic evening. Indulge yourself by enjoying traditional Italian flavors created by Chef Alessandro Brandi who is noted for his fresh seafood dishes stemming from his Ligurian roots in Portofino, Italy. Enjoy your dining experience while sitting on the outside patio or in the air-conditioned dining room. You might begin your meal with one of their sumptuous hot or cold antipasto, followed by a mouth-watering selection of Italian specialties created with the chef’s “original ingredients.” The Veal Scalope with lime sauce or Sautéed Red Snapper with fresh tomatoes, asparagus, black olives and steamed potatoes may be enticing choices for dinner. Whether you are in the mood for pasta, fish or a meat dish, the food is delectable, and the dining experience is easy to savor. Open daily from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm; reservations suggested. Da Giorgio Cabo San Lucas
Perched on the cliffs above Monuments Beach and overlooking Cabo San Lucas Bay and the famous El Arco, Da Giorgio Restaurant offers one of the most inspiring views in all of Los Cabos. Da Giorgio is a beautiful open-air restaurant covered by an enormous palapa roof. Pools, waterfalls, and patios are terraced below the dining area, creating Cabo’s favorite spot for watching renowned sunsets. Da Giorgio specializes in Italian and continental cuisine with a menu of delectable dishes. The veal is superb and pasta lovers return again and again. Those in the mood for a real Italian pizza will be delighted. Seafood lovers are not forgotten—there is a great selection of fish, lobster and shrimp dishes cooked to perfection. Italian Chef Antonio Mezzela suggests you try the Ravioli de Langosta (Lobster) in white wine sauce. Famous for desserts, you must indulge in the Mousse Cake or creamy Flan. Da Giorgio San José del Cabo
Palmilla Bay and the lights of San José del Cabo provide the backdrop for romantic terrace dining at this authentic Italian eatery perched on a hilltop at Km. 25.5 in the Corridor. One of the first restaurants in San José, this is the original Da Giorgio, conceived many years ago by Italian restaurateur Giorgio Battaglia and his wife Cristina Rodriguez. Set on the top floor in a whitewashed villa with comfortable décor, the aroma of garlic and Italian spices will have you thinking you’re in a little corner of Italy. With a good selection of Italian vintages, entrées range from gourmet thin crust pizzas to steaks, veal, seafood and a bevy of fresh pasta dishes. The Seafood Pasta and spicy Pasta Puttanesca are particularly good as are the Spinach Ravioli and the veal and steak dishes. Chef Antonio Mezzela does double duty at both Da Giorgio locations, so the food is consistent at either restaurant. To ensure a terrace table, reserve ahead. Open daily from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Edith’s Restaurant
Edith’s is one-half block up from Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas, almost above its sister eatery, The Office on the Beach, and has spectacular views of the bay, the Sea of Cortés and the famous El Arco in the distance. The atmosphere is laid back and romantic and the staff is friendly and well-trained. The food is delicious—grilled steaks, seafood, ribs, chicken, Mexican specialties—there is something for everyone. Tortillas and salsas are hand-made on the premises, a nice touch to enhance the savory selections and regular specials. In the winter months, you will be supplied with a Mexican blanket in case you get chilly, and the terra cotta, free-standing clay fireplaces are a nice touch as well. Mex-ican Chef, Javier Fierrer Gazga suggests Wally’s Special, a seafood combo of grilled Jumbo Butterflied Prawns, a Filet of Seabass in garlic and white wine and a grilled or steamed Lobster Tail. We think you’ll come away thinking of Edith’s as one of Cabo’s most unforgettable restaurants. This is a favorite for private parties and weddings. Reservations are strongly recommended. El Galeon RIstorante Italiano
One of Cabo San Lucas’ oldest and finest restaurants, El Galeon Ristorante, is nestled on the hillside below the Hotel Finisterra Resort, overlooking the picturesque marina of Cabo San Lucas. The ambiance sings of romance and the evening lights are magical. The extensive menu highlights traditional Italian cuisine, tender veal and beef, and delectable seafood dishes. Chef Rafaelle Dimaio makes El Galeon a special place with house specialties that tantalize your taste buds—Scaloppina al Limone (piccata), Veal Medallions with marsala and mushrooms, Gamberoni Provenzale, consisting of shrimp in garlic, tomato, wine and herbs. The Roasted Baby Back Lamb Ribs in a red wine sauce are tender and delicious. What Italian restaurant would be complete without pizza? El Galeon is no exception, with a variety to choose from. The ever popular “Daily Special” serves two persons and comes with Caesar Salad, three different kinds of pasta, a main course, and a delicious dessert with coffee. The price varies depending upon the entrée and pasta selections. After dinner, enjoy one of their many marvelous desserts or special flaming coffees while listening to the nightly entertainment at the popular piano bar. Reservations are recommended. El Patio de San José
One of the latest courtyard dining experiences to open in recent years, El Patio de San José offers International Cuisine with Mexican Flair—a marriage of traditional Mexican ingredients combined with contemporary twists and flavors. Chef Polo de Anda, from La Paz, knows how to bring out the best of local fresh fish and seafood using chilies and other seasonings, like tamarind. Chef de Anda suggests you try the Filete de Atun (tuna filet) with Salsa Diablo accompanied by a Mixed Vegetable Brochette and Crema de Elote (corn); or the Baby Rack of Lamb con salsa tamarindo with camote (in Tamarind sauce with yam). El Patio is in a restful and very enjoyable courtyard setting in the downtown heart of Old San José, with seating for over 100 guests under the many aromatic fruit trees. During the day, charming umbrellas provide shade from the tropical sun and enhance the lovely ambience. Enrique’S Steak and Lobster House
Located at Km. 4 off Highway 1, just outside of Cabo San Lucas, Enrique’s Steak and Lobster House is a favorite for locals and tourists. The parking lot in front of this colorful restaurant is crowded with cars and taxis, which is a sure indication of the popularity of Enrique’s. Families find this a popular spot because not only is it a good bargain, they have a small play area for the little ones. Steak and lobster, as the name indicates, are the house specialties and Enrique has been known for years for his $9.99 Combo Specials. The combos include your choice of lobster, steak, shrimp, fish, and barbecued ribs or chicken. All dinners come with soup or salad, garden fresh vegetables, and a baked potato, making it plenty of food for the heartiest appetites. Other popular menu items include Quail in Plum Sauce, Swordfish Medal-lions with garlic, and tasty Lamb Chops with mint jelly. Open from noon to 10:30 pm with reservations recommended for dinner. Fenicia Restaurante at Hilton
Fenicia Restaurante, located at the extraordinary Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort is an elegant, world-class restaurant offering fine dining at a European level of Mediterranean Cuisine. The restaurant draws its name from “Phoenicia”, which refers to the Mediterranean’s first traders who were known for having astonishingly advanced cuisine. With 30 years of experience, the chef, Mario Luiggi Maggi, from Milan, Italy, has fused the style of the ancient heritage with modern culinary arts to create delicious, boldly flavored dishes from most countries that border the Mediterranean Sea: Sicily, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Spain, and Morocco. The wide-ranging menu offers delectable dishes from land and sea and the service is nothing less than impeccable. You may dine in the air-conditioned indoor dining room or on their covered ocean view patio. A highlight of your evening will be the dishes prepared tableside to create a memorable presentation with pro-pinquity and originality. Fenicia’s seafood display offers an exquisite glimpse at the ever-changing selection of daily caught fish. En-ticing appetizers may include Mahi Mahi Moussaka with potatoes, tomato, eggplant, and zucchini or Lobster Gazpacho with Spanish saffron. For dinner, try the Octopus Tortellini with tomato coulis and fresh herbs or the Beef Chop for two, crusted with roquefort cheese and fine herbs. The Giggling Marlin
The Giggling Marlin is a landmark located on Marina Boulevard in the center of Cabo San Lucas. Known for more than fifteen years as a fun place to party, you will know you’ve found it when you see the image of a man hanging upside down next to a marlin. At the entrance is a convenient espresso bar to help you straighten up a bit after the wild ride inside. Most people come to the Giggling Marlin to party or enjoy the risqué floorshow, but caution is advised, you may become part of the entertainment. The Giggling Marlin serves tasty Mexican dishes in addition to fresh seafood. Try the Seafood Orgy, a combination of lobster, shrimp, scallops, crab, and clams. What a feast! Mexican dishes include several different types of tasty tacos or Fajita specialties. The menu is extensive with sixteen different appetizers from Hot Wings to Oysters Rockefeller. The breakfast menu offers traditional specialties of México along with American favorites. As the name indicates, this is a fun place to have a great dinner and afterwards you may find yourself hanging upside down from the fish scale. Open from 8:00 am until 1:00 am. Telephone: 143-1182.

Girasoles at Sheraton Hacienda del Mar
Girasoles is a comfortable yet casually elegant place to dine. Marvelous 5th floor views afford diners a stunning vista of the Cabo del Sol coastline. Open for dinner only, appetizers range from Lobster Tacos to Ensalada Mexicana, a refreshing blend of carrot, lettuce, cucumber, jicama and oranges topped with a yogurt dressing. Fajitas are a specialty here with four versions to choose from as well as a good selection of seafood and beef dishes. Mahi-Mahi (dorado) the Old Way, prepared with garlic and epazote, is lovely, as is the Salmon with coriander vinaigrette. Service is prompt and attentive and meals are carefully prepared with the highest standards one would expect from a Sheraton resort. Their full bar and exquisite dessert menu is another reason to dawdle over the view, especially during sunset. Resort attire required. Telephone: 145-8000.

Houlihan's
ocated on the upper level of the Puerto Paraiso Mall in Cabo San Lucas, Houlihan’s has an excellent view of the harbor. You can sit and enjoy lunch or dinner out on the patio or in the air conditioned dining room, while gazing at the stunning Sea of Cortez and Land’s End. With its funky décor and extensive menu, Houlihan’s offers whatever suits your mood. And at Houlihan’s you certainly get what you pay for; the price is well worth the substantial portions. The menu is relatively standard and has everything from appetizers and salads to burgers, sandwiches, pasta, house specialties and steaks—you really can’t go wrong. Houlihan’s is a great place to bring your family or friends. Have a drink at the bar, nibble on some tasty appetizers before your main course, and enjoy. The Ultimate Nachos, Chinese Grilled Chicken Salad, Stuffed Chicken Breast, and Baby Back Ribs are just some of the Houlihans’ ?classics.? Finish off your meal with extraordinarily decadent desserts. La Concha Beach Club
Located in the luxurious Cabo Real resort at Km. 19.5, La Concha Beach Club is a favorite for everyone. Offering beachside service during the day, this is a great spot to take the family since this protected little cove is safe for children. Unlike many other bustling beachside rest-aurants, La Concha has a peaceful setting making it a perfect spot for those just wanting a little quiet time. An efficient wait staff takes care of your needs while you lie on the beach basking in the sun. The dinner crowd is in for a treat with a variety of excellent dishes ranging from Mexican specialties to seafood and the tender beef they are known for. Mexican Chef Miguel Gurrea recommends the Special Shrimp with mezcal and nopal, truly a uniquely Mexican dish. A great spot for private parties, banquets, and those dream weddings, the beauty of La Concha makes memories to last a lifetime. The palapa bar is away from the dining area and is one of the most romantic settings in Los Cabos. Special menus are offered for events of any type. Open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. La Dolce Ristorante
A short walk from Plaza Las Glorias on Hildago at Zapata is La Dolce Ristorante, a quaint sidewalk trattoria in Cabo San Lucas. At La Dolce you are likely to feel transported to Little Italy by the food and decor. The motif and charm of this restaurant is undeniably characteristic of Italy. Open for dinner only, La Dolce does not stray far from traditional Italian fare. The menu offers an array of pasta dishes and pizzas, with a focus on value. You might like to begin your dinner with one of their various antipastas which include a wide range of Italian favorites like Focaccia with oil and balsamic vinegar. When considering a primo course or entrée, one of the house specialties is lasagna. Be certain to leave room for la dolce, meaning "the sweets." Dessert is perhaps what is most alluring about La Dolce. The peaches with ice cream flambe is highly recommended, however, all the desserts here are especially tantalizing. Telephone: 143-4122. La Noria at Hotel Hacienda
La Noria, a traditional Mexican Restaurant located in the Hotel Hacienda Beach Resort in Cabo San Lucas, stays true to Old World character. For those looking for that authentic Mexican experience, the food at La Noria is incomparable. The décor includes natural rock walls, huge chandeliers of iron and wood as well as worn Saltillo floors. Saturday night is fiesta night and the Mexican buffet will keep you coming back for more. Their excellent combinations include the Flying Surf and Turf—you get a choice of whole lobster, grilled shrimp, game hen, filet mignon, or New York steak. For those who have to have sea-food and lots of it, try the Seafood Extravaganza, an unbelievable array of lobster, stuffed shrimp, shrimp pernod, grilled or breaded catch of the day, octopus al chipotle, and scallops.
